Cover Reveal for Stone, At Your Service by Rie Warren #eroticromance

Welcome to the cover reveal for STONE: AT YOUR SERVICE an erotic romance by Rie Warren, coming September 25th to a book retailer near you! This post is part of a tour organized by Goddess Fish Promotions.

Rie will award a Carolina Bad Boys swag pack including an ARC of Stone to a randomly drawn winner during the tour via the rafflecopter at the end of this post (International winner).

Check out this gorgeous cover and find out more about the upcoming release:

And here's what the story is about!

One bad boy mechanic, one sexy romance writer, and an impossible situation. Hell on wheels? More like hell in high heels.

Bad boy mechanic Josh Stone likes to get his hands dirty any way he can—the filthier, the better. Ever since his wife walked out on him and their young son, he’s only had room in his heart for two loves: the kid and cars.

Roped into playing his best buddy’s gay boyfriend during a romance writers convention, the player meets the girl who’s gonna rock his world. Leelee Songchild. Shy, bashful, beautiful Leelee who blushes at the drop of a hat yet writes hardcore smut to rival Josh’s backlist of Penthouse Forum.

The only problem is his hands are tied. Josh can’t stab his old friend/fake lover in the back even though all he wants to do is take luscious Leelee to bed, and maybe, love her. When the truth comes out, all hell breaks loose. Too bad romance is just for books.

WARNING: Uncompromisingly hot sex, hilarious hijinks, and heartfelt romance—STONE is a triple threat.

How about a sneak peek to whet your appetite?

As soon as the venue grew crowded and the noise became a deafening roar, the already dim lights lowered even more and three spots hit center stage. Strutting from the darkness beyond, a man with slicked back black hair and painted on leathers—I dare-fuckin’-say they were tighter than the pair I’d trashed last night—threw his arms wide.

Women erupted from their seats, leaped onto tables, started throwing panties, money, wads of paper with phone numbers. Janice pounded the table, a small smile flirted on Leelee’s lips, and Jacqueline blew a man-hungry whistle through her teeth.

Nicky smirked at me.

“Welcome to ’Lanta, y’all! When we heard there was a group of beautiful,” he thrust his hips once, “talented,” twice, “freaky group of sexy romance writers in town?” The MC gave Jules Gem a run for her money, rolling his pelvis obscenely while he licked his lips and the ladies threatened to stampede the stage. His voice dropped, “Well, we just had to put on a special show for y’all!” Stepping back, he raised his arms again, shouting, “Welcome to the all-male revue, Magic Mike Night . . . erm . . . make that Noon!”

From every corner of the room, men appeared. Lots of men. Almost naked men. No worse than what I’d gotten up to last night, but then Leelee had been focused solely on me. Now she wasn’t. Her mouth dropped open, her cheeks flushed in that pretty shade of pink the way it did when she was on the brink of orgasm. Threading through the audience of bloodthirsty demons, aka dick lovin’ babes, the strippers eventually made it onstage in one piece, without their negligible outfits being torn off their bodies.

A few kisses were probably stolen and asses squeezed, I knew, because I’d been on the receiving end of that before.

I sat, glowering.

EXCERPT from A Bite in Time

“Euro for your thoughts?” Vincent teased as he kissed John’s neck.

“Maybe a dollar. At least I can spend it at home.” John touched Vincent’s face. “I wish we had another day, that’s all.”

Vincent kissed him and John’s cock nudged forward.

John pulled away. “We better get going. Shower first.”

“Good idea.” Vincent charming smile hinted of mischief.

Warmth spread across John’s chest. Shit. He was officially a sap reacting so easily to Vincent’s charm.

Biting his lip, he stood and pressed one hand on Vincent’s shoulder, stopping him from rising. “Alone.” How to explain the need to build back his defenses, so once they returned to Arizona, his relationship with Vincent existed, once again, in the privacy of their homes.

“We’re leaving in an hour,” John added, putting an end to fooling around.

Vincent leaned back on his elbows, his legs stretched out giving John an eye full of what he’d miss showering alone. John ran his hand across his scalp, ogling but not caring.

“More reason for me to shower with you,” Vincent said. “Once we’re home, you’ll stuff me back into the closet.”

The hairs on John’s nape stood as a flint of anger lit in him. Vincent read his thoughts and it was goddamn irritating. Then his shoulders slumped. Jesus. A big, bad cop scared of coming out. It had been a few months since he committed to making their relationship work. He was beginning to trust Vincent completely, and planned to make headway, but damn if he hated Vincent baiting him about coming out.

Didn’t Vincent get it? He didn’t like being pushed against the wall. And yet he had made a promise he would make the attempt. That he wouldn’t let his attitude come in the way of a relationship. To be fair, Vincent held back his impatience, most of the time.

“This has been great,” John waved his hand to take in the room. “But it’s a far cry from Arizona. Julie knows, and I’m going to tell Free, but I’m not ready to tell my peers or my parents.”

No matter how much he craved for an open relationship, once back in Arizona, he’d be Detective John Reeder, straight son of Irish Catholic parents. Sure he’d made slight progress, telling his sister he was gay. But from asimple thing like telling his sister who’d already guessed to coming out to his parents was a long fucking way. Yet, guilt overwhelmed John every time he pulled back from Vincent’s touch in public, the hurt in his lover’s eyes eating at him.

Vincent slipped on his robe, his good-natured teasing vanished. “John, when will you face who you are? A gay man with a boyfriend who loves you. I refuse to be treated as a shameful secret.”

Love? Did he say love? Oh fuck.

He needs a wife...

Single bodyguard Nick Calhoun has been given an ultimatum by his boss--find a wife or lose his cushy, high-paying job. Clients' wives are hitting on him and putting Nick, and his boss, in hot water. But monogamy? He's never been a white picket fence kind of guy, and he's not about to embrace the happily married lifestyle now. He needs a wife who doesn't care about his steamy, extra-curricular love life...and he knows just the woman to fit the bill.

She needs a home...

Adalaide Sinclair spent years caring for her ill grandmother. Upon Grammy's death, she's stunned to find herself evicted from the only home she's ever known and labeled a thief by her inheritance-hungry family. Addie needs to find a place to live and a job--fast. So when her childhood friend, Nick, proposes a no-sex marriage of convenience, she puts her dreams of true love and happily-ever-after on hold. Finding Prince Charming can wait a little longer, right?

But will their friendship survive the honeymoon?

When Nick and Addie unexpectedly win a dream honeymoon, they decide to go their separate ways during the ten-day vacation. Too bad a camera crew is waiting for them at the tropical paradise. Acting like a head-over-heels bride and groom for reality TV wreaks havoc on their no-sex agreement...and blurs the line between fantasy and reality. Will Nick and Addie remain married in name only, or will a romantic honeymoon for show turn them into true newlyweds?

Enjoy an excerpt:

Time to focus on the present—a paradise full of beaches and sun and fruity drinks with paper umbrellas. She could swim and sail and participate in the forty-seven other activities the resort offered or read one of the novels she’d brought.

“What are you thinking?” Nick asked.

“That I deserve this lovely island.” She raised her chin, buoyed by a resolve she hadn’t felt in . . . years. “I’m going to make the most of the next ten days. Let my hair down and dance in the sand. Who knows when I’ll get to do something like this again?”

Nick’s eyes darkened, turning serious. Something rare for him. He started to speak then stopped himself.

“Your turn,” she said. “What are you thinking?”

“This is only our first vacation. You’re not going to have to wait another nine years for another one, okay?”

The raw emotion in his voice sounded nothing like the Nick she knew, but the determination behind each word warmed her heart. “Okay.”

The plane landed and motored across the water toward a long wooden dock that led to a pristine curved strip of white sand beach. Two paddleboards lay by the shore’s edge. Palm fronds blew in the wind.

Her breath caught in her throat. “It’s like a postcard.”

“Only better. This is real life. The island is ours for the next week and a half.” Nick motioned to the people on the dock. “Looks like we have a welcoming committee. Show off your pearly whites. I see cameras.”

A Horsey #MySexySaturday with Switching Leads #mm #anthology

This week's My Sexy Saturday is supposed to be carriage-themed for the historical authors. I don't have carriages, but my upcoming release does have horses! Here are seven  paragraphs from Switching Leads, my novella in the Campus Cravings: Higher Learning m/m bundle.

The set-up: Cathia U's equestrian coach John Graham needs an assistant coach--fast--to help sort out his divided team and end up with a decent placing in the region. He doesn't count on his boss hiring sexy, Olympic-level horse trainer and rider Finn Parker. Yes, Finn is more than qualified, but he's also John's ex boyfriend. Throw into the mix Finn has brought Maggie with him, the first horse to truly set John free in the saddle. Here's an excerpt of John's reunion ride on Maggie with a little sexy at the end.

Seven Paragraphs from Switching Leads...
Finn beckoned for John to come down the outside line of jumps. Excitement bubbled up as he rounded the corner and set her up for the first fence—an easy vertical of about three feet high. He’d never jumped Maggie at this height, but Finn wouldn’t set him up to fail. He could trust Finn in that respect. They cleared the jump easily and cantered four strides to the next, the breeze whipping across his cheeks, John’s heart soaring over the fence.

“Diagonal line,” Finn called.

John turned after the corner, aiming across the ring for the pink-and-white rails set easily a half a foot higher than the first two. They found the perfect distance, cleared, and galloped three strides to the barrels. Maggie snorted as she landed and shook her head, looking for the next fence. John laughed with sheer joy. She’d always done that mid-course. He looped one rein to scratch her neck as he settled her for the next fence.

With ease, he guided the mare around the arena, jumping the fences Finn indicated. After they cleared the final three jumps set a stride apart each, John pulled her into a finishing circle, slowing her canter to a trot, and then to a walk.

He grinned and met Finn’s gaze, his heart pounding from exertion and sheer joy. Those piercing blue eyes held approval, admiration, and…something more. John’s breath caught in his throat, his chest swelling with pride. Every inch of him tingled, from the roots of his hair to the base of his cock.

“Yeah, Coach!”

The cheers and hoots quickly brought John back to reality faster than a bucket of ice water. Damn it, he’d been looking for that approval. He swore he’d never do that again.

Red, White & Screwed Blurb Blitz! #romance

Today we have a virtual blurb blitz tour with Red, White & Screwed by Holly Bush. The cover caught my eye, as did the blurb. I hope you'll find it interesting, too! Holly will be awarding a $20 Amazon GC during the tour so stay tuned at the end to enter.

Red, White and Screwed
by Holly  Bush

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BLURB:
Political strategist Glenda Nelson is having a meltdown. Her handpicked, very married Congressional candidate was just caught climbing out of the window of the Sleepytown Motel, and her philandering ex-husband seems to have the most to gain from the colossal scandal that follows. As Glenda attempts to salvage the campaign in a hotly contested race, conservative and liberal pundits pounce on the story to further their own agendas.
Glenda’s love life is nonexistent to say the least, that is, until she meets handsome artist Chris Goodrich. Chris’s easy-going, carefree outlook on life couldn’t be more different than the 90-mph crazy train that is Glenda’s, but the more time she spends with him, the more she craves his calming presence, his sexy smile, and his steamy embraces. Is Chris the one to take a chance on?
Between the pressure of full-blown spin control mode, rapidly declining job security, refereeing two teenagers, caring for aging parents, and spending hours on her therapist’s couch trying to get past her ex’s crushing betrayal, Glenda finds love and makes the long trek back to happy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 Excerpt:

Glenda talks to the new man in her life for the first time

I hit the End button on my phone, went to the buffet table, and filled a Styrofoam plate with carrots, dip and those little wieners with pie crust around them. The carrots were rolling around and getting stuck in the dip, but one wiener kept moving and made a break for the lip of the plate. I dipped my elbow for counter balance. “Whoa!”

The errant hors d’oeuvre caught a wave and hopped right off the edge of my dish. It landed on a plate inches away. I turned to see who was on the receiving end of my dinner. Christopher Goodwich was looking at the weenie standing upright in his spinach dip.

“Sorry,” I said.

“You couldn’t do that again in a million years.”

I laughed. “You’re probably right. . . Glenda Nelson,” I said and shook his hand. “The painting is exquisite. Well worth all the work to raise your commission. I’m with the Democratic Committee.”

“I saw you on stage.” Goodwich chuckled. “Seventy-five even.”

When he laughed, the little wrinkles around Chris Goodwich’s eyes creased. His mouth was full of even, white teeth. He pulled his lips to one side when he smiled, and it made him look boyish.

He took a long look around the room over the heads of many of the guests as he was able to do at six feet and something. “I expected this unveiling to be filled with history types all asking me about the buttons on the uniforms.”

Lilah Suzanne's Pivot And Slip #mm #contemporary

Today we have author Lilah Suzanne in the hot seat, discussing her latest release--a mm contemporary romance--Pivot and Slip. Lilah will be awarding a $25 Barnes and Noble GC to a randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter during the tour, and a free download of an Interlude Press eBook title or an author/book swag pack (US ONLY) will be awarded to one randomly drawn winner via rafflecopter at each stop during the tour.

Interview questions… .

Quick round:
Coffee, tea or…what’s your vice? Coffee
Favorite Movie: Ghostbusters
Favorite Color:  Blue
Favorite book/author: The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
How do you feel about bacon? I am pro bacon

The REAL questions…

Tell us a little about yourself.
I was born and raised in the South and I’ve lived here my whole life, save for a short stint in Seattle. (I miss Seattle, don’t miss the weather!) I’ve been writing since I was very young and I come from a creative family; lots of musicians and performers and writers.

What’s under your bed?
Just bed slats! Gotta love Ikea simplicity. There may also be spiders, but I choose to not think about that.

What comes first, plot or characters?
Characters, for sure. I may have an idea for a story, but the plot really falls into place around the characters; who they are, where they come from, what their journey is.

Pantser, plotter, or hybrid? Tell us about your writing process.
Somewhat of a hybrid. I have a plan, I write out a basic synopsis of each chapter, and I need to know where I’m going, but other than that I let the story fill in as I go. I tend to trust my instincts, rather than a strict outline.

Oddest thing on your desk?
Bongos.

What’s your most interesting writing quirk?
I need things to be quiet, though not totally silent. If I get stuck I like to fold laundry or clean something, it always seems to unblock my brain. But then of course it’s left half-finished when I’m suddenly struck with inspiration!

What’s your favorite thing about the genre you write in?
I will never get tired of writing about people in love.

What is the hardest thing about being an author?
Balance, I think. It’s hard to have set working hours and I find myself tuned out of real life quite a bit. I try to be present in other things and with other people, but I always feel like there’s something else I could be working on. Dealing with rejection and criticism isn’t very fun either.

What’s the easiest thing about being an author?
I can work in my pajamas, that’s pretty great! And you can’t beat the commute. The best part is really just getting to create something that brings me so much joy.

What do you wish someone had asked you for an interview question? Here’s your chance to get the soap box out!
I guess what I’d do differently if I was writing it now, which is: Make it longer! It felt like a whole story and I do think it stands up as such, but I find myself wondering more about Felix’s back story and that there’s a lot to explore with him. I’m planning on releasing some snippets from his point of view on my website, so maybe I’ll still get a chance.

Tell us about your latest release!
“Pivot and Slip” is the story of Felix, a boxer who lost everything in a fight gone wrong and Jack, a former Olympic-bound swimmer turned yoga instructor who is a little lost in his own way. Felix signs up for Jack’s Yoga for Seniors by mistake one day, and there is an instant connection between the two of them. At its core “Pivot and Slip” is a story about dreams and failures, and how Jack and Felix pick up the pieces of their lives and maybe find a new dream in each other.

BLURB for Pivot and Slip:
Former Olympic hopeful Jack Douglas traded competitive swimming for professional yoga and never looked back. When handsome pro boxer Felix Montero mistakenly registers for his Yoga for Seniors class, Jack takes an active interest both in Felix’s struggles to manage stress and in his heart, and discovers along the way that he may have healing of his own to do.

Faced with the ghosts of his athletic aspirations, can Jack return to his old dream or carve out a new path, and will their budding romance survive the test of Felix’s next bout in the ring?

Available at Interlude Press

 Excerpt from Pivot and Slip...
“I’m a boxer,” Felix said. Then his face twisted. “Or I was, anyway.”

Something flashed across Felix’s eyes, then, and Jack could see his jaw clamp tightly again, working and clenching. His breath came in shallow puffs through his flaring nostrils and he seemed visibly to be trying to calm himself.

Instinctively, Jack grasped Felix’s free hand and stretched it across the distance between them to set it gently against his own abdomen. Jack could feel soft tremors shaking through Felix’s fingers, the vibrations pulsing through Jack’s T-shirt. Felix’s eyes widened as Jack took a deep breath, filling his diaphragm and then his lungs, and let it out steadily.

“Breathe,” he instructed, and inhaled again, nodding when Felix started to follow along. They breathed together, a slow circuit in and out and in, and Jack could see how Felix seemed to be calming bit by bit with every exhalation, his shoulders and neck loosening, his hand going lax and stretching wide across Jack’s stomach from the bottom curve of his ribcage down to his belly button.

Jack focused on sending him a calming energy, passing it out from his body into Felix’s, until Felix’s eyes blinked closed and his mouth parted and Jack found himself completely thrown off by the thickness of Felix’s eyelashes and the plump curve of his mouth.

Jack’s breath hitched on an inhalation and Felix startled and opened his eyes, the ice pack falling to the ground with a soft thump. And when his hand flexed over Jack’s stomach and he dropped his gaze to Jack’s lips and back up, his eyes heavy-lidded and dark, the energy hummed and crackled between them.

Blazing The West with Dawn Luedecke #TWRP #HistoricalRomance #western

Today we have fellow The Wild Rose Press author Dawn Luedecke and her Blazing The West book tour, featuring her latest release, To Tame a Montana Heart. She's discussing using personal experiences in her books. For additional tour dates, events and more, visit: Dawn Luedecke's Website.

Writing your personal experiences
by
Dawn Luedecke

With each book I write, I leave a little piece of myself. I believe this is true for all authors, but just how much does an author reveal in his/her books? For me, I use personal experiences as inspiration for subplots. I’ve even used events from my sisters life in my book.

In ‘To Tame a Montana Heart’, the inspiration for my heroine Dusty comes from my youngest sister. I have watched her throughout our lives and realized how she makes a perfect heroine for a fictional romance, and I ran with it. Many of the things that happen to my heroine, have in fact happened to my sister.

In other books, I often use events that have happened in my life, or things I have seen. For instance, in book 2 of my Montana Girl series, Big Sky Brazen, I fashioned a character in my book after a guy I saw at the gym. I did not meet or speak to the guy, and didn’t use his likeness, but the character traits I saw in him made for the perfect character.

There are many other experiences of mine in my stories, but I’ll let you guess at which scenes those are. In the meantime, would you like to see a sneak peek into just one of those scenes? Can you guess what in this scene is from personal experience?

~*~

Blurb for To Tame a Montana Heart...

Running from a past of privilege, deceit, and danger, Travis Simms is ready to settle down. What better place to forget all he left behind than the quiet little Montana town of Lolo Hot Springs? His goal is clear — build a hotel and his own destiny without complications —until one of the town’s most troublesome women captures his attention.

Dusty Larson is hell bent on independence, helping her sister run the Triple D Ranch. She can do anything a man can, and do it better, so she certainly doesn’t need one in her life. The only problem is she seems to attract bad luck and danger...and Travis. Can he tame her wild ways and keep his bachelor status intact — or does he risk losing his heart?

~*~
Excerpt of To Tame a Montana Heart...

From what Travis could gather, three horses had gone missing the day before, and the rest late last night. With some kind of unspoken communication, DeEtte, Dolly and Cousin Johnny collected gear and prepared for their journey. Ezek had been sent ahead to scout the area and locate the trail. The rest of them would stay behind and run the ranch.

The riders loaded up and mounted their horses. Travis called out to warn of an approaching rider just when DeEtte swung her leg over the pommel. The crowd looked around and saw the puff of dust as it plumed, just above the tree line. They waited in anticipation as a buggy came barreling into view.

The prim driver raised her chin in a blatant show of defiance against the shocked stares of the by-standers. The carriage wheels ground over the rocks as it rolled near the barn and stopped. With all the regal bearing of the Queen of England, Justine exited her carriage and walked with determination toward the crowd that now stared at her in open-mouthed confusion.

Travis watched her pull off her gloves and approach the crowd.

“Oh, close your mouth, Cousin. You didn’t think I could hear about this and not come to help did you?” Justine looked at Johnny and turn to scan the rest of the group. “I assume Dusty and Travis will hold down the ranch…congratulations by the way.” She nodded in their direction.

“I will stay in DeEtte’s room and watch over your house.” Justine eyed the little building with apparent speculation. “Is this it?” She glanced at DeEtte and back to the front door. “Charming. Some flower beds out front would make it look better, I think.”

The heel of her shoes echoed off the porch roof when she climbed the steps. Travis looked from one person to another. Each one had a look of bewilderment.

“Do be a good boy and get my luggage from the buggy, Jackson,” she threw over her shoulder and disappeared into the house.

“Odd,” DeEtte said.

Dusty looked from the door in which Justine had disappeared to DeEtte. “Yes it is…but if you think about it, she has always been there for us when we needed her. I just never imagined she would actually come and live on the ranch. Do you think she knows she’ll have to use an outhouse?”
