Interview
questions for Scarlett Jade…
Quick
round:
Coffee,
tea or…what’s your vice? Coffee, hands down.

Favorite

How
do you feel about bacon? It is my life blood. Bacon makes me happy. Bacon never
lets me down. Ever.
The
REAL questions…
Tell
us a little about yourself.
I'm a sassy girl with a big, soft
heart, who loves to write stories about people who are imperfect and looking
for happiness.
What’s
under your bed?
If I told you... I'd have to kill you. ;)
What
comes first, plot or characters?
Depends. Sometimes characters come to me, then other
times I have crazy dreams and I wake up and I try to type it out or text it to
my best friend. When I wake up in the morning I try to decode what I wrote.
Sometimes it works... Other times, not.
Pantser,
plotter, or hybrid? Tell us about your writing process.
I tried to plot once... it was awful.
Oddest
thing on your desk?
Three things of eos lip balm. Mint, strawberry, and
some other kind in a purpley sphere. I love them. :)
What’s
your most interesting writing quirk?
I have to have my music as loud as it can possibly
go. I'll be deaf before I'm thirty five. If it's not loud, my characters don't
speak.
What’s
your favorite thing about the genre you write in?
I love to tell stories about people having hardships
and finding happiness. Romances are great for that.
What
is the hardest thing about being an author?
The hardest thing about being an author is getting
my characters to be quiet at times. I have been known to write at odd hours or
drop my husband into the latest plot like the characters are real. He still
loves me though.
What’s
the easiest thing about being an author?
The easiest thing
about being an author for me, is simply telling a story. I love to just be at
one with the page and let everything out. I call it the purge. I often cry
right along with the characters. It's therapeutic.
What do you wish someone had asked you for an interview
question? Here’s your chance to get the soap
box out!
What is your driving force? My
driving force in life is being told no. I was that kid that if you said no,
don't do that, I did it anyway. I was told early on that I would never make it
as a writer, and I would never pay any bills with being an author. Thanks to
that person, I have enjoyed immensely proving you wrong.

Love at First Bite is my baby, it's a love story between a
girl and a mercurial man that she's not too sure she can trust. But fate, of
course, has other plans for them.
Blurb for Love at First Bite…
Jeremy is a handsome
millionaire with a deep, dark secret. He has a hollow life until Sasha shows
up, quite literally on his doorstep in the middle of the night. At first the
recluse pushes her away and fears telling her his secret, but fate has other
plans. Plans that could include being bitten by love and mated for life. When
he realizes what he’s done in a moment of passion, he pushes her away and tries
to save her from the biggest danger of all, himself.
Sasha knows the mercurial man is nothing but trouble, but she's lured in like a moth to a flame. As he shows he's more than a hotheaded jerk, she can't help but fall for him. When all his secrets come to light, she realizes the danger is much worse than anything she could imagine.
Things that go bump in the night aren't real, until you suddenly find out they are...

Excerpt for Love at First Bite…
Tentatively,
Jeremy pushed open the door and watched her face, his eyes missing nothing. Her
eyes widened, her breath caught, and a cloak of panic covered her expression.
“Where am I?”
Sasha squawked, her voice sounding dry and distant. She spotted the bottle of
water in his hand, and pleaded with her eyes. He handed it over, watching her.
Predator, he told himself.
She drained the
bottle, before taking a slow breath. “Where am I?” she asked again, her voice
honey-smooth now.
His pulse kicked
up a notch. Damn, that voice. “I don't know, cupcake, you tell me where you
are. Who are you? Where did you come from, and why the hell are you on my
property?” He crossed his muscular arms across his chest and knew he was being
ten kinds of an asshole.
“Who the hell am
I and how did I get here?” Her voice rose as she mimicked his questions and
answered with one of her own. “How about you tell me why the hell I'm sitting
here, buck naked, in your bed?” She stopped and glared at him. “Furthermore,
who the hell are you?”
He smirked. He
liked feisty girls. He took a step closer. “Little girl, I'm your worst
nightmare.”
Sasha’s eyes
widened a fraction. “Damn! I knew I'd end up with an axe murderer. I should
have listened to Mom and gotten a cell phone. I wouldn't be getting killed now.
Wait, can you at least make the kill quick? I really am so not into suffering. I was just driving to Chicago and my car
died. I'm only twenty five and I’m too young to die. I haven't done anything I
wanted to! I'm still a virgin!” she ended with a panicked sob.
He could feel
her horror, sadness, and longing. It was like watching a movie in brilliant
color, her emotions were so palpable to him, and he was taken aback. His mind
flitted through the possibilities. Usually vampire-controlled girls didn’t show
emotion like this. They were robotic. This wasn’t robotic. This was hot and
emotional. She was either damn good at her job, or this was for real.
