Interview
questions for Izzibella
Beau
Quick round:
Coffee, tea or…what’s your vice? Neither,
strictly a Pepsi or chocolate milk girl
Favorite Movie: I don’t have a
favorite, but I could watch Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and all the good
80’s movies every time they are on.
Favorite Color: favorite color
to wear is neon pink.
Favorite book/author: I have a new
favorite author every time I read a new book.
How do you feel about bacon? Um…I don’t eat
meat. And for those with dirty minds I’m not talking about that type of meat.
LOL
Since you don't eat the meat, we'll make the bacon useful in other ways. |
The REAL questions…
Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m
married and a mother of 3 biological children and 28 canine. I am a huge animal
advocate and try to sponsor as many furbabies as possible in shelters and
rescues around the nation. I have a
master degree in criminal justice and I’ve been an author with Beau Coup since
March of 2014.

What’s under your bed?
Usually
a dog under and a dog on top of my bed at all times.
What comes first, plot or characters?
Plot
comes first…no maybe the characters…or maybe they just all work out at the same
time. I had the main character of the Assumption series picked out before I
began working on the plot, but that was because the plot was focused on her
name at first.
Pantser, plotter, or hybrid? Tell us
about your writing process.
I
plot. I have to know where the storyline is going. I can’t just sit down and
write unless I have a focus on what I want the characters do to and say.
Oddest thing on your desk?
I
don’t have a desk. Oddly enough, I work at my kitchen counter.
What’s your most interesting writing
quirk?
I
have to have plain M&Ms to eat.
What’s your favorite thing about the
genre you write in?
Anything
can happen. In NA, it’s okay to have innocent love and relationships, but you
can also throw in a little heat and desire that isn’t allowed in the YA genre.
What is the hardest thing about being an
author?
Time.
It’s really hard sometimes to budget time for writing, marketing, and family
life all in one day.
What’s the easiest thing about being an
author?
The
stories are the easiest. I have so many ideas running through my head all the
time, but I never have time to write them all down.
What do you wish someone had asked you
for an interview question? Here’s your chance to get the soap box out!
Who
do I think about when I’m writing my sex scenes?
Tell us about your latest release!
The
latest release was Barely Breathing: Assumption series book 2. Prior to that
was Broken: Assumption series book 1
Blurb for Broken:
Could this be the record for the worst name to give a child, Ayma Kuntz. Welcome to Ayma's world and the other Bayshore students as they contend with the drama, romance, and heat that fills their days. Broken - Book One of the Assumption Series centers on Ayma and Colton. It follows them through the first half of their senior year in high school. A year when life should be exciting, fun and happy...but sadly, it isn’t always like that.
Ayma comes from wealthy divorced parents. Her mother has made her life a living hell from the time she was born and named. Her life has been planned and designed to make her a replica of her mother; a socialite living on Bay Shore. Ayma is trying to break that mold. She wants to be nothing like her mother, but really doesn’t know who or what she wants to be. She has her limited friends, but lots of nemeses, low on the social ladder, and a name that will haunt her forever.
Then along comes Colton, He’s who every girl wants or every guy wants to be like. Colton is the opposite of Ayma, he’s not rich, has a supportive family, tons of people who want to be his friend, but Colton feels he is damaged at best. He has a past, one that includes time in jail.
Ayma and Colton seem to balance each other out, they aren’t supposed to be together, they are complete opposites, yet the attraction is one they can’t fight for long... Will his past catch up and tear them apart or will they be able to pull through all the obstacles created to break them apart?
Broken is how both of them feel. Can they help each other fix the damaged pieces of their lives or will unforeseen
Blurb for Barely Breathing...
The fear of drowning in one’s own life, never
seeing the light to bring you back out, the suffocation that one feels when
life’s problems become too much is something that each one of us may feel at
least once in our lives. Is it possible to jump and overcome every hurdle
that’s placed in your way? What happens when life’s problems seem like you’re
caught in a riptide and there’s no escape but to go under and give into the
pull that’s dragging you down.
Welcome back to Bayshore High School. We join Ayma,
Colton, Tabby, Reagan and the rest of the crew where Broken: Book One of the
Assumption Series left off. When it seems her world can’t get any more
complicated for Ayma, more life changing events are thrown her way. She will
face turmoil in love and friendship, never knowing whether she will survive the
storm or fall victim to the constant tug that wants to drag her under. Ayma and
Colton never had it easy in their relationship. Now the threat of a new love
interest, the emergence of an old flame, and a possible addition means more
controversy in their love affair.
What are the secrets that some of Bayshore students
are keeping? What will happen to friendships and love relationships when these
secrets are known? Finally, we begin to shed light into the secrets of several
characters we have grown to love from Broken. Each has their own story to tell
and a past which can affect all of their futures. There is more drama and
heated romance than a soap opera and as the storyline begins to unfold you will
be drawn in as you begin to either love or hate the students of Bayshore High.

Excerpt
for Broken
“Ayma!
Ayma!"
Even
in my sleep I heard my mother calling me. I hope she knows she just ruined a
great dream. It’s not every day I can get the guys from One Direction to fight
over me. Hey, a girl can dream, can't she?
Let
me tell you a little about myself. My name is Ayma Kuntz. Go ahead, get it all
out of your system. I’ve heard all of the comments before.
For
those of you who don't get the innuendo of my name, my parents wanted to play a
cruel joke on me or obviously didn't think this one through. My first name is
Ayma (pronounced Ima) last name Kuntz; where the z is silent. Don't know why the z is put there in the first
place, it’s so lame. Anyway, you get the picture, right?
Flashback
to first day of public middle school:
I begged my mother to let me go to the
public school. I went to private school all through elementary and just didn't
fit in with all those kids. I was so excited when she finally gave in. I went
to my first class and the teacher asked me my name. Of course being from a
highly prestigious elementary school we didn't use any kind of bad language or
slang words. I proudly told her my name, Ayma Kuntz. Her eyes just about popped
out of her head when I said that. The whole class burst into a laughing fit.
This was so not how I wanted my first day of public school to be, so I took off
running out the door. I didn't know where I was going, so I just stopped at the
end of the hallway. A girl I didn't know, who is now my best friend, Tabby,
came up to me to see if I was okay. She told me she was from the class I’d just
left and did I know what everyone was laughing about. I shook my head no. I had
no idea what they thought was so funny. So, Tabby went on to explain about the
slang word for a girl's private part and how my name kinda sounds like 'I'm a
cunt' when I say it.
Well,
there went my whole existence at this school.
Excerpt from Barely
Breathing
I was guessing any romantic escapade was
sort of out of the question right now. I didn’t know why I wanted to, maybe it
was all hormonal or something. I let out a deep sigh and sat down beside him.
“I really don’t know what to do. I’m about as clueless in this as you are.” I
didn’t know what else to say. I knew he was looking for answers and solutions,
but I didn’t have any to offer. “Colton?” I looked over at him staring at the
wall in front of us.
“Hmm,” he said without even a glance in
my direction.
“Do you still love me?” My voice sounded
like it was cracking or I could start crying at any moment.
There was hesitancy in his response.
Finally, after what seemed like forever, he said, “Yeah, I do.” But why did I
get the feeling there was something more going on?
“I think I’m going to go to bed.” He
stood up and started toward the bedroom. “We have school tomorrow,” he said as
he walked into the room and out of my sight.
I turned off the lights and made sure
the front door was locked. I went into the bedroom where Colton was and saw
that he was just lying in bed with the TV on. It really didn’t seem like he was
even watching it.
I changed into my night clothes and
crawled into bed beside him. I gently kissed him on the cheek and rolled back
over to my side. There was no response on his part, except for a soft ‘good night.’
The night of dreaming was eventful.
Let’s just say my excitement from the little make-out session Colton and I had
in the living room carried over into my dreams. Somehow, Colton ended up
turning into Bentley somewhere along the dream lines. Hey, I couldn’t help what
I dreamed, right?
I knew I’d woken myself up from the
excitement I was feeling or the way that the Bentley/Colton character in my
dream was making me feel. I remembered I kept calling Bentley’s name every time
he would touch or kiss me in my dream.
I looked over to Colton’s side of the
bed. He wasn’t there. I heard a noise over by the dresser and saw him standing
there.
“Hey, why are you over there?” I
questioned, sounding still half asleep.
He held out my cell phone. “Who the fuck
is Bentley and why were you calling his name in your sleep?”
Uh-oh…busted!

Thanks for the GREAT interview! These books sound great. Thank you for the chance.
always great to get to know more about an author ~ chocolate milk & Pepsi are staples for me as well. Ayma Kuntz? Hmmmm . . . yep, that's definitely worse than the name of a girl who lived next door to me ~ Layme Sunshine. Thanks for the chance to enter.
