Meet Chase Sanders, Alpha Male!

“On the bed,” Chase whispered, holding the strap in front of him.

“Not the boss.” He unbuckled one restraint, the leather sliding through his hands.

“Then yes, I do.”

He looked at her then, his gaze cold. “It hurts that you can’t trust all of me.”

It was the most honest thing he’d said all evening. But Kate couldn’t trust him, not as her boss, not when that part of him would send her to die and think nothing of it. “You tell me how I can trust the boss after today, Chase. Honestly. How can I?”

“I warned you.”

She opened her mouth and closed it. She could get her head around the fact that he was two people, essentially. He was her boss and he was her lover, and this job made them so different… Eventually, though, the boss would win. And she wouldn’t trust any part of him here, in the safety of his bedroom. “We’re not going to make it, are we. Not me. Us.”

He closed his eyes and drew in a deep breath. “I can’t talk to you about this—any of this—until this fucking mission is done. You have to understand that. There are things I can tell you and things I can’t, and I’m afraid if I start, I’ll tell you everything. And I can’t.”

He opened his eyes and these emotions she understood. Desperation, fear and absolute hopelessness. She wanted to run to him, soothe them away. But the mask fell into place, his features schooled to cold perfection. Hard, yet devastatingly handsome. A perfect study of control.

His Adam’s apple bobbed, and he refused to meet her gaze. “I need your consent for this. Will you allow me control? Will you submit to me?”
