Starting the New Year with a Blog Jump! with Mia Downing

The winner for my prize for the blog hop is:

Mel Bourne!
I've send off an email. Congrats!

Thanks to everyone who entered. It was so fun to see your comments!

The grand prize winners will be posted on the main site.

I just posted a blog entry about New Year's Resolutions in Are You One of the 22%?. So for this post, I'll tell you one of my funniest New Year's eve evenings. My best friend and I were spending it watching movies (we were in our twenties) and she told me they had a New Year's tradition in her family. They had to run barefoot around the house, twice, in order to have good luck for the year. I thought this was stupid, but whatever, I was on a quest for good luck. I shed my shoes, drank the wine and waited.

Midnight struck and she made me go first, both of us streaking around the house in our bare feet, the lawn spotty with snow and the air frosty cold. I finished, turned around and she pegged me in the head with a snowball. Come to find out she had made up the tradition because she was sick of being pegged with snowballs, since I was a better shot! All she wanted as an opportunity to get back at me. We still joke about this every year.

Now on to what you could win for reading that.

We have THREE grand prizes. You as a reader can go to EACH blog and comment with your email address and be entered to win. Yep, you can enter over 200 times!

Now what are those prizes?

1st Grand Prize: A Kindle Fire or Nook Tablet

2nd Grand Prize: A $300 Amazon or B&N Gift Card

3rd Grand Prize (USA only): A Swag Pack that contains paperbacks, ebooks, 50+ bookmarks, cover flats, magnets, pens, coffee cozies, and more!

To celebrate Spy Games: Trained for Seduction making Smitten With Reading's Best Reads of 2012 List, I'm giving away a signed print copy.

All you need to do to enter the grand prize drawing and my drawing is to make sure you fill out the Rafflecopter gadget. You MUST leave at least your name on the blog with your email addy if you want to be considered for the grand prizes. If you're chatty, then share your New Year's tradition or resolution. I'd love to know!

HAHA!! That's a funny story!!

I don't do resolutions, but one tradition we used to do as kids is run around the neighborhood with noisemakers and drive all the old people crazy. It took us a good 10 minutes to run around the entire block. We thought we were so cool and "big" because we were allowed to go alone in the dark. We found out later that our parents told the neighbors that we would be around and they all watched out for us.

Thanks for participating in the hop. I don't make resolutions anymore. Staying home and watching it all on tv.

One of my New Year's Resolution is to lose the last 8 pounds that I had gained in the past 8 years. That and to take better care of my health.

Thank you! Happy 2013!

Sounds like something that happened to me in college during the winter time... Icehockey games=drinking=slipping on ice back to dorms and snowballs being put down my pants... Gotta love besties.

I am releasing my debut novel and moving to a new city. I am hoping to retain my sanity and pant size through the process. Sadly, I think one may be lost along the way. LOL

I always have to be with family on New Years. I was always told as a kid that the person/people you kiss at midnight will be who you are with in the next year. With that said I kiss the hubby first and then my four boys.
