Eight Days On The Naughty List!
A little elf whispered in my ear, “Don’t hang your stockings by the chimney with care. Put them on, along with those red stilettos, the matching bustier and mini-skirt. Go be naughty!”

I frowned. Me? Wearing an outfit like that? Ha! He must have been drinking too much hot chocolate! I had, which is why that skirt didn’t fit anymore. But wait, that was reality!

Quick, quick, oh, hurry! I dash across the room and grab the nearest vehicle of fantasy!

Yes! I’m off now. And I’m sleek and long and dressed in red leather!

And hells to the yes! The elf is no longer the same elf whispering in my ear. He’s taller, leaner, a pillar of strength and power. And he's dressed in full Dom gear, a flogger in his large, strong sexy hand.

“You’ve been very naughty.” His voice is deep, lusty. His dark gaze strays from the tippy-toe of my red heels to the polished red tip of my fingernails high above my head. My wrists are bound to the wall, the cold metal biting deliciously into my flesh. I’m helpless…his to do with as he wishes.

I lower my head to hide my smile. I know he likes it when I’m bad.

And that’s how easy it is to be naughty, to get lost in a book, a fantasy. I do it whenever I can, whether I’m reading or writing. In my latest release, Tara must let go of the world she knows and submit to the unknown world of BDSM. She’s very, very naughty and loves every minute of it!

Yes, Master
Tara Sherwood never dreamed she’d let a man put her in chains, call her pet and spank her into submission, or that she’d derive pleasure from punishment. But her future hangs in the balance and the choice is simple—walk away, or kneel at the Master’s feet.

A morsel of decadence that will whet your appetite for whips, bondage and a Master of your own.

Excerpt:

A loud pop across the room snapped her head up. The rest of her body jerked but remained immobile, proving the restraints worked and just how vulnerable she was. Oh god, what had she been thinking? She’d never even been spanked before much less whipped.

He was beside her again, a warm hand on her back, smoothing the length of her spine. “Shh, shh, shh.” His palm slid along her hip and over the curve of ass. “It sounds worse than it feels.”

Tara sucked in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. She trusted him. She had to, had to do this.

Something tickled the opposite buttock. It felt like dozens of velvety fingers. No, not fingers. Strands of soft leather. She trembled as it shadowed the path of his hand down one thigh, over her calf and back up again then along her back. The tickling continued down her arms until he finally held it for her to see. And seeing the instrument he planned to use on her helped ease the panic.

Funny, she should have been more afraid, not less. Maybe she wanted this more than she thought.

***

See, Tara is enjoying herself, living a fantasy. I encourage you—no, I dare you—to find your own little elf, let him whisper in your ear. Then go, be naughty!

Christi Snow's Latest Release, The Christmas Top #mm #Christmas

Yesterday, my friend, Christi Snow, released her first m/m romance with Decadent Publishing. It's part of the 1Night Stand series. Madam Eve owns an elite dating service and she matches lonely couples together for a night of pleasure (and hopefully more!) Mark and Jason are definitely in need of Madame Eve's magic. I've had the pleasure of reading this short story and woo-wee is it hot! Check it out!

~Mia

Blurb for The Christmas Top

All he wants for Christmas…
It’s time for Mark Cummins to come out of the closet. He’s ready, but he’s never been topped. Asking Madame Eve for the one-night stand of his fantasies, he hopes she can grant his Christmas wish.

He’s a less-than-merry gentleman…
Jason Wieland’s life partner died in a horrific hate crime two years before and he hasn’t taken a lover since. He knows it’s time, and he reaches out to the 1Night Stand dating service to find the right man to light up his holiday. But when masculine, sexy, and extremely straight Mark shows up, he doesn’t know what to do. Is this 1Night Stand a cruel joke or has Madame Eve truly worked Christmas magic?

Excerpt
“Listen, you seem like a nice guy, but I think Madame Eve must have made a mistake here. I don’t think we’re compatible.” He started to stand, but Mark’s hand on his arm halted him.

“Wait. I don’t know what I did wrong, but I don’t think she made a mistake. I’m incredibly attracted to you.”

Jason lowered into his chair with a reluctant sigh. “So, you’re telling me you’re gay.” He winced. He hadn’t meant to attack the guy, but he wouldn’t be made a fool of, either.

“Yes. Why would you think otherwise?” His brows furrowed. “Why else would I be here?”

Running a hand through his hair, Jason tried to get a read off the other guy. Was he just bored and out to try something new? That couldn’t be it, could it? “Is this some sort of mid-life sexual experiment for you? Have you even been with another guy before?”

“I don’t know where you’re getting all this from. I certainly haven’t had this type of issue with other guys. Usually they’re fine with me wanting to hook up with them. What did you think this was? Madame Eve sets up one-night stands. I’m not looking for a commitment.” He narrowed his eyes. “You know what…never mind, I shouldn’t have come. I never should have accepted the invitation. Whenever something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I wish I could say ‘nice to meet you, Sidney,’ but unfortunately now I wish I’d stayed home for the holidays with my family.”

Jason didn’t miss the flash of hurt and disappointment on his face as he stalked away. Damn, that appeared genuine. A knot settled low in his belly. Had he misjudged the situation? He played back over the evening as he took off in a jog after Mark.

Jan Meredith Chats Playing Doctor and Bifrost to Asgard #romance #giveaway

Today we have the very funny and talented Jan Meredith! Her latest release with Entangled Publishing, Playing Doctor, sounds like a keeper from both the blurb and the excerpt! I must admit I learned a little something while having a darned good time assembling this blog. What more can anyone ask for? Why, a contest! There's a link to the rafflecopter thingie at the bottom. Go forth, do its bidding and two lucky people will win one of two gift cards--$10 and $25--to Amazon or B&N, their choice. Sweet deal!

Enjoy!

~Mia

Quick round for Jan Meredith...

Coffee, tea, or…what’s our vice?
Coffee in the morning, Bud Lite in the evening.

Favorite Movie:
Meet Joe Black. Who wouldn’t love to teach Brad Pitt all about the smexy?

Favorite color:
Lavender. Have you seen the background on my book cover? There’s a background you ask? I’ll admit, it’s difficult to look past those lick-o-licious abs!

Favorite book/author:
This is a totally unfair question! I have lots of favorite authors for lots of different reasons. If I have to narrow it down to one, it would have to be Sherrilyn Kenyon. I love her ability to build worlds and suck the reader into them. And she’s one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet.

How do you feel about bacon?
All I can say is, I’ve already had to cut back on chocolate, so the unfortunate soul who threatens my bacon intake had better haul ass!

In honor of your love of beer and bacon
I give you...
the Bacon Beer Stein.
The REAL questions…

Tell us a little about yourself.
I drank, I fought, I made my ancestors proud…no, wait, that’s from Thor! Although I would like to think that my ancestors do smile down on me from time to time.  I’m a nurse on the weekends and a wife, mom and writer the rest of the time. I love chocolate and nachos and cheese, and I’m totally convinced that giving them up won’t improve my problem with reflux. I love eye candy on my Facebook timeline and books that keep me thinking about the characters long after I’ve read the last page. It’s always been my philosophy that, “if you don’t at least try, you’ll never know.” That little tid-bit of wisdom has gotten me into so many messes!

I had no clue what a Bifrost to Asgard was,
and in my defense, I am Irish. I deal in Leprechauns
.
What’s under your bed?
It’s been a well guarded secret that the Bifrost to Asgard  is under my bed. I don’t think any further explanation is needed. :)

What comes first, plot or characters?
The characters, definitely. They sort of peck at the inside of my head and pester me until I finally sit down and write out what they have to say.

Pantser, plotter, or hybrid? Tell us about your writing process.
I guess I’m a hybrid. I don’t have a set formula for writing. The idea comes and the characters harass me until I tell their story. I make a basic outline of who they are, what they want, how they plan to get it, and what’s in their way of getting it. From there I dive in and everything changes.

PLAYING DOCTOR actually started out as a two-paragraph blurb for a contest entry. Harlequin Mills and Boon was doing an Editor’s Pitch for their Medical Romance line, and the blurb was all the writer had to submit. When my blurb was chosen and I did the ten-minute online pitch, I was asked to submit the first three chapters to the editor—which meant I had to write them. I had a basic story line in my head, but nothing on paper. I hadn’t expected to win the freaking contest! Total pantser beginning. In the end, I got an awesome two-page feedback rejection letter, revised the chapters and ended up selling it to the awesome Heather Howland at Entangled Publishing.

Oddest thing on your desk?
Looks around, shuffles the tootsie roll bag aside (I’ve cut back on chocolate, not totally given it up) and decides that all the junk on my desk is odd, especially the four rocks…er, crystals sitting under the monitor that my son gave me to enhance my creativity. There is, however, a boot box under the desk with the hard copies of two very old manuscripts in it. I’m using it as a foot rest until I get the courage to shove my cat off of it and dust the tomes off and give them another shot.

What’s your most interesting writing quirk?
My husband would say it’s the part where I jump up from my chair and run to the kitchen and wash a dish or two, then back to the computer. I try to explain that I’m thinking…

What’s your favorite thing about the genre you write in?
The good thing about writing contemporary romance is, you can take a basic trope, twist it around and into something altogether different and remain within that original trope.

What’s the hardest thing about being an author?
Having so many characters demanding their story be written at once.  Just about the time I settle into one work in progress, long comes one of the characters from another book, harping because he or she has been put on hold for a while.

What’s the easiest thing about being an author?
The pleasure I get when someone reads my book and enjoys it, then recommends it to someone else. That’s easy, and also humbling. It makes it all worth it.

Here's some info about Jan Meredith's latest release, PLAYING DOCTOR from Entangled Publishing.

Blurb for Playing Doctor
When a fellow RN jokingly predicts that Beth Roberts will meet a tall, ripped and totally lick-o-licious stranger who will fulfill her deepest desires, it’s supposed to be from across a crowded room, not giving CPR to a wedding guest. Given her tragic love life, Beth has no desire to become involved again, but who could have predicted the ponytailed doctor with the mischievous smile would break through her defenses?

Dr. Gabriel North blamed himself for his wife’s death. Now, after two years of battling guilt and meaningless hookups, he’s ready to move on. When he sees the sexy brunette at his friend’s wedding, his attraction is swift and strong, and he wastes no time in pressing his advantage. One night with the woman who makes him feel alive again isn’t enough. She believes in him as a physician, but getting her to trust the man is going to take more than medical school has prepared him for.

Excerpt from Playing Doctor
She was going to have to let him go soon.

Emotions, ragged and raw, rose up and squeezed Beth’s heart.

Gabe was all she could hope for in a lover—thoughtful, demanding, encouraging and inventive. He drove her to the limit, pushed her past the boundaries of her sexual desires and followed her over willingly, only to send her back up again. It was as though he sensed her every need, searched them out and took pleasure in giving them to her. Yet it wasn’t only his body that gave her pleasure—she enjoyed his smile, his sense of humor, and the way he lovingly cherished the memory of his late wife. Talking to him about Jamie had been easier than she had expected, and afterward, when he’d held her…

I could fall for him.

The realization hit her like a bolt of lightning, a jolt straight to the nervous system that left her weak and shaky. It would be so easy to drop her guard, let him in.

Gabriel lay back on the bed, his pillow bent double and tucked behind his head, the sheet bunched over his groin as he thumbed through a tourist magazine provided by the hotel. His left leg bent up at the knee, the other splayed on the mattress, he was completely relaxed and at ease with his nakedness.

At ease with her.

She snuggled closer and traced the line of his jaw. His day-old scruff pricked her fingertips, reminding her of the way it had felt when he’d dragged it across her skin…across the mound of her sex. A rush of heat surged through her core.

The first rays of morning sunlight filtered through the filmy sheers covering the windows, a reminder that their night together was coming to an end.

I’m not ready to let him go.

You don’t have to. To be with him like this again, to hold and be held…

Stick to the plan—no romance, no relationship, no complications.

Beth forced back the sorrow pinching her heart. She would not waste her last few hours with this wonderful man grieving for tomorrow’s loss. That would come soon enough. So, she would take what she could, right here, right now…and then she would let him go.

“What are you looking at?” She reached for the magazine, but he grinned and held it just out of reach, forcing her to stretch across him to get it. He stole a quick kiss before letting it go and falling back on the pillow, folding his arms behind his head.

Beth tossed the publication onto the bedside table and snagged the bottle of wine and glasses sitting there. She filled the glasses, handed one to Gabe, and sipped from her own as she considered him over the rim. He was so very deliciously…she searched for a word that would accurately describe the man grinning lazily up at her, and the only one that came to mind was, masculine.

When she had drained her glass, she stretched across his legs to set it and the bottle back on the nightstand. She smiled at his hum of appreciation and the slide of his hand over her bare ass where the nightshirt she had pulled on had ridden up. When she felt his cock stir against her hip beneath the sheet, she hummed a little herself.

Straightening, widening her knees—purely for the sake of balance, of course— she crossed her arms at the hem and pulled the nightshirt up and off, letting it catch under her breasts and giving it a smart tug that caused them to bounce enticingly. Gabe’s hum became a low groan. The sheet tented impressively between his legs.

Licking her lips, she reached down, tugged the sheet aside, and wrapped her fingers around Gabe’s erection, marveling when it thickened and elongated in her hand. She slanted her gaze up his torso, watched him tuck his chin, lower his head, his eyes become heavy-lidded as he anticipated her next move. With her eyes steady on his, she dipped her head and dragged her tongue up the length of his shaft, from root to tip. His hips jerked. The forgotten glass wobbled in his hand, threatening to spill the contents on the sheets.

“Did I tell you what my friend foresaw in my future for the weekend?” Beth asked as she let go of his cock and reached for his wine.

His breath came out slow and ragged. “No, but I’m very interested in finding out.” His palm drifted over her ass and gave her an encouraging squeeze.

His cock lay hard against his belly. She reached down, ran her thumb along the pulsing vein. “Hmm, so I see.” His foot slipped down the sheets and his knee fell to the side, an open invitation to do as she pleased. Her eyes raked over him hungrily. She was about to be very, very pleased, and so was he.

Beth tipped her head back, drained the glass, and then handed it to Gabe. His hand shook as he blindly set it back on the table, never taking his eyes off her. She leaned forward, rested her hands on his thighs and let the wine trickle from her mouth, over the head of his cock and down the shaft.

His hands fisted in the sheets.

Lisa Chalmers Chats If Tomorrow Never Comes #giveaway #paranormal

Today we have author Lisa Chalmers chatting about her latest release If Tomorrow Never Comes. She's giving away a copy of this heartwarming paranormal romance to one lucky comment leaver. So read on and stay for a chance to win!

Interview questions for Lisa Chalmers!

Quick round:
Coffee, tea or…what’s your vice? Healthy – grapefruit juice, unhealthy – Coke, root beer or Dr. Pepper
Favorite Movie: Oh this changes a lot, but right now I love the Agatha Christie Poirot movies with David Suchet.
Favorite Color: Royal blue & silver
Favorite book/author: Jude Deveraux A Knight To Remember, adore that book.
How do you feel about bacon? I love it, especially if it's on a cheeseburger! :)

And now for the real questions...

Tell us a little about yourself.
I hate talking about myself lol I’ve always had a story in my head. I used to be a huge hockey fan, I don’t watch as many games as I used to, but I loved going to games. There’s probably a book or two about a hockey player hero somewhere in my future.

What’s under your bed?
Right now, a couple cans of coke as fuel for those late night writing emergencies, my writing binder, a bunch of books, some framed photos I took off the wall and possibly a Terry's Chocolate Orange I'm hiding shhhh!! lol

What comes first, plot or characters?
Characters usually. I think Plot has only come first once or twice.

Pantser, plotter, or hybrid? Tell us about your writing process.
I'm 90% pantster, 10% plotter. I usually know my opening and where everyone is meant to end up by the time I hit the end. Doesn't always mean they follow instructions though.

Oddest thing on your desk?
Would you consider nail polish odd? I currently have 5 bottles of it sitting beside me. All festive and glittery!

What’s your most interesting writing quirk?
There must always be music playing while I write. No music, no words. Soundtracks are usually made before I finish chapter one.

What’s your favorite thing about the genre you write in?
In paranormal, the freedom. I don’t have to think ‘is that logical?’ because anything can happen or exist.

What is the hardest thing about being an author?
Too many ideas in my head to get down at once. The story in my head never quite seems to match what comes out on paper. Also, character names. I’ve only had a few appear fully named and I loved them for that. The others tend to go through at least 3-4 names each time before I find something I’m happy with.

What’s the easiest thing about being an author?
Coming up with story ideas.

What do you wish someone had asked you for an interview question?
If you could be a character on a TV show which would you pick? For me, it would have to be Person Of Interest. I just love Reese and Finch.

Tell us about your latest release!
IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES is my debut release. It’s a paranormal romance, but not a typical romance. I describe it as a bit of GHOST meets IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE. I wrote the original draft almost thirteen years ago and always loved the idea. It’s definitely grown in size since then. I did a trailer for it as well: Trailer for IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES on YouTube

Blurb for IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES:
Josh Collins has the perfect life—a beautiful girlfriend and a baby
on the way, until an accident takes his life and he’s suddenly forced to fight for everything and everyone he loves.

Alone and pregnant, Avery Rhodes is suddenly thrust into a painful new reality. Life without the man she loves is turbulent. Nothing feels the same any more without him and she finds herself facing the unimaginable.

With his new-found guide Gabriel, Josh is forced to learn what happens IF TOMORROW NEVER COMES.

Excerpt:
She held her breath as the tiny boats on the mobile started to move. First one slowly, back and forth, as if it were deliberately being swayed gently, then came the next one, and then the one after that. Each started slowly, but picked up until they were all going. Either she was on the verge of a nervous breakdown or Josh was indeed back. She picked the brand new blanket out of the box and set it over the end of the crib. “They’d all think I’m crazy for thinking you’re here. Heck, I’m even doubting my sanity about all of this.”

One of the boats stilled in response. It was just like him. A smart aleck remark. “Funny,” she muttered. Still the same smart ass she’d fallen in love with. “So funny, Josh. Toy with an already emotional pregnant woman.”

The lone boat began to sway slowly again. The slightest chill brushed against her arm like he’d leaned against her for a moment.

She sighed. “Don’t.” The word was a weak plea not to play games.

The boats slowed down until just the first one was moving back and forth like someone was flicking it with their finger. For a moment she could almost imagine him beside her, leaning on the railing, toying with the soft fabric.

“I keep thinking you would try to show me you’re around. I know that night wasn’t a dream, Josh. You didn’t clean up after yourself.” She laughed softly. “Guess some things never change.”

“Neither do you.” The smile was evident in his voice as he watched her take a few more baby things out from the shopping bag on the change table. He had to smile when he realized how much she was showing. All he wanted was to tell her how much he loved her and how proud he was of her for going through all this and have her for once be able to hear him say it.

He watched her rub her back gingerly as she headed towards the dresser. He noticed the new addition she’d added to the row of photos. It had been taken the same day she’d told him about the baby. He had his head on her shoulder and his hands resting on her hips as she’d been trying to take the picture with her camera. He laughed remembering how many blurred shots she’d gone through before that one had finally been taken. That grin on his face was so silly, but then again, she could make him sillier than he’d ever been in his life and far more serious, too.

She picked the frame up and traced his face with her finger. Josh was rooted to the spot, unable to move. From where he stood her heartache was palpable.

Masks
by Darah Lace

Masks. I figure we all wear one kind or another. Some more than others. I wear so many I don't even know myself half the time. My friends would say I have split personalities and they're probably right. I'm a Gemini, after all.

But masks make it easy to hide things we don't want others to see—our secrets, our flaws, our insecurities. We hide our hurt behind a smile or our anger behind laughter. Clothing can mask not only physical imperfections but also status. LOL my kids would skip a meal to wear designer jeans. And when we first meet someone, we hope to make a good impression by being on our best behavior. Gradually our masks come off and we reveal our true personalities.

In my book, UNMASKED, Spencer and Melody both hide behind a mask—literally and physically—and as the truth is revealed, the fun begins.

Blurb for Unmasked...

After a long business trip, the last thing Spencer Preston wants is to attend a masquerade party. His plan? Get in and get out. However, an encounter with a hot she-devil changes his mind, especially when the siren behind the sequined mask is the prim and proper, no-nonsense, secretary he’s been fighting an attraction to for months. Suspicious of her dual lifestyle, he slips on his mask and sets out to discover her secrets.

Melody Jamison hates hiding behind her plain-Jane persona, but her last job ended in sexual harassment. Excerpt from Unmasked:

Melody went limp with relief and dropped her head against the bandit’s chest. “You scared me half to death.”

“I did not mean to frighten you.”

She listened to her heartbeat as it slowed under the soothing motion of his hands at her back.

“I could not take the chance of being seen.”

Fear began to subside, but at his words, a new concern took its place. If he was here, there was only one reason. He’d come to fulfill his promise.

As if she would welcome him with open arms again. And without first demanding to know his identity. Why couldn’t he risk being seen? What was the big secret?

One reason ricocheted through her head. She shoved against his chest, gaining only a few inches between them. Still blinded by the dark, she looked up in the general direction of his face. “Are you married? Is that why you won’t tell me who you are?”

Melody felt for his left hand. There was no wedding band on his finger, but that didn’t mean a thing.

He laughed. “I am not married, my little she-devil.”
“Then why?”

“Don’t you enjoy the mystery? The thrill of not knowing?”
She shuddered as he ran a finger along her jaw to her lips. They parted against her will, inviting his thumb to pluck the lower one. Before she lost all her wits, she turned her head aside. “You can’t just show up here and expect...”

His hand fell to her shoulder then drifted lower to hover over her breast. Though he didn’t touch her, the warmth of his hand seeped through her blouse, causing her nipple to pucker. “I’ve thought of nothing else all week, signorina. You have no idea of the agony you have put me through, the torture of seeing you, but not being able to touch you.”

Touch me, please. “H-how did you know I was in here?”

“I waited for you in the parking garage. You never came down. I decided to look for you and saw you enter this room. But I had to wait for the other woman to leave.”

He held her steady as his palm slid across the satiny front of her blouse and lightly caressed her breast, his thumb grazing her nipple. Sensation streamed from her breast to her pussy, and her head fell back.

She wanted what he offered. Wanted it badly. Just not with him. She had allowed him access to her body once, but she couldn’t do it again. He was a stranger. And determined to remain so. “Please don’t do this.”

“You don’t want this, bella?” His other hand cupped her cheek, fingers fanning out then pushing into her hair, dislodging pins along the way, to cradle the back of her head. His lips blazed a path from her earlobe to her jaw as he tweaked the budded tip of her breast through her blouse and bra.

“I don’t want...to want it.”
